Our summer concert this year is a celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum jubilee. There will be music from each decade of Her Majesty’s reign and reminiscences from members of the choir of their memories of her Majesty’s reign.
We are planning for this to be a whole community event and are inviting our audience to arrive from around 5.00pm and to join with family and friends for a picnic on the lawn in front of the church. If it’s wet we’ll move the picnic into the Community Centre hall. There will be banners and bunting, a tombola and other raffle prizes and there will be opportunities for the audience to join in with well known music including of course the National Anthem, Jerusalem, Rule Britannia as well as favourite pop and film music. We’re keeping a few surprises as well.
After the picnic we’ll then move into the church for the concert which will start at 6.00pm. We have our jubilee trio, Bob Ramskill, piano, Julian Powell percussion and Marcus Cornell, Bass Guitar to add to the fun.
Tickets are priced at £12.00 and are available to buy online or direct from a choir member. Children under 12 years of age can attend free of charge but must be accompanied by an adult.
