Concerts for 2022
Well we’re very excited to say that all of our concerts for 2022 are now in the Calendar (just click on Calendar on the menu to read about each concert). We’re very much looking forward to performing this year, and especially as it is the year of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our summer concert in June will be a celebration of music from all decades of her reign. Do put the dates in your diaries and come along to hear us singing.
New term
Following a very successful Autumn term 2021, with two wonderful concerts, the New Year 2022 brings Atherstone Choral Society back together on Monday 10th January to start rehearsing for their Easter concert on 9th April, where we will be singing Stainer’s Crucifixion and Faure’s Requiem. New members are very welcome, but please contact the Membership Secretary first if possible so we can be ready for you.
We’re back!
18 months after we were locked down, Atherstone Choral Society returned to rehearsals on 6th September 2021! What a joyful evening and an amazing atmosphere singing together again. Zadok the Priest, Moon River, Cantique de Jean Racine, American Hymn, Give Unto the Lord and Autumn Leaves provided a wide variety of music to sing. Faces were full of smiles all evening! And five new members to welcome too. Always room for more. Just use the Contact Us form to enquire. ๐
Choir’s out for summer!
Well that was the year that was! We have been rehearsing every week by Zoom, which was better than not singing at all, but very odd singing to yourself! But an excellent way of keeping in touch with our fellow singers.
Following the government’s recent announcement, we are keeping all fingers crossed that we will be able to meet again, in person, on 6th September, ready to enjoy singing together again. New members are welcome but please make contact before coming along to rehearsal just in case of any restrictions.
Summer concert cancelled
Unfortunately, Atherstone Choral Society will be unable to hold their summer concert in July due to the present circumstances in our country. We are very sorry not to be able to sing for you on July 4th but will keep you up to date on when we will be resuming our rehearsals. In the meantime, stay well and keep safe.
Concert cancellation
In common with every other event planned in the near future, we have sadly made the decision to cancel our forthcoming concert on Saturday 4th April. We are all very sad not to be able to sing the beautiful Stabat Mater by Dvorak for you but hopefully that will be on our concert programme again before too long. For now, please stay home and stay safe!
