Atherstone Choral Society

Singing for the joy of it

Atherstone Choral Society

2025

Atherstone Choral Society

Following our fabulous experience of being part of the 200-strong choir in Leamington Spa in April singing The Dream of Gerontius, we performed folk songs and spirituals for our summer concert at Holy Trinity church in Hartshill, Nuneaton. Now we are looking forward to our Autumn and Christmas concerts. On November 8th in St Nicolas Church in Nuneaton we will be singing a selection of Vaughan Williams music, and our annual Christmas concert will again be with Bedworth Brass Band at St Nicolas Church on Sunday 7th December.

And finally as 50 in 2024………..

Atherstone Choral Society

Following our sell-out 50th special anniversary concert of Messiah, we are now looking forward to our final concert in this our 50th anniversary year. Tickets for our Christmas Concert 2024 with Bedworth Brass Band are now on sale and can be bought here online or from choir members. Don’t leave it too late as it promises to be another sell-out concert! Tickets

50th Anniversary concert

Atherstone Choral Society

Tickets are now available for our 50th anniversary concert. Atherstone Choral Society was founded in 1974 and their first concert was Handel’s Messiah performed at St Mary’s Church in Atherstone. It is therefore fitting that our 50th anniversary concert of Messiah will also be performed at the same venue on Saturday 9th November 2024. We expect this to sell out so do order your tickets in plenty of time. They can be purchased online  or from choir members.

Our fundraising

Atherstone Choral Society

As part of our fundraising efforts, we have arranged various events which choir members, friends and the general public are more than welcome to attend and support ACS.

Firstly, we will be attending a car boot sale at the Bermuda Phoenix Centre in Nuneaton on Saturday 20th April from 10:30am – 12:30pm. You will be glad to know that if the weather conditions are poor, the car boot sale will be held indoors. If you have any items you’d like to donate for the car boot sale, please email fundraising@atherstonechoralsociety.uk or let one of our choir members know.

Our next fundraising event will be at the Open Air Country Fair at Planters Garden Centre in Kingsbury on Saturday 1st June from 10am – 4pm. After last year’s success at the fair, we will be running a bottle raffle stall and a book stall. There will be other local traders at the fair as well so please come along and support. The fairs are a great opportunity to buy gifts if you’re looking for presents for loved ones.

Finally, we have our ACS Quiz at the Red Lion Hotel in Atherstone on Friday 14th June, 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Entry is £5 per person and up to eight people per team. If you’d like to attend, please let a choir member know or email fundraising@atherstonechoralsociety.uk.

Happy New Year 2024!

Atherstone Choral Society

We are back at rehearsals following a lovely Christmas break. New members have been welcomed and we’re now busy rehearsing The Armed Man. Hopefully we’ll see some of you at St. Paul’s Church in Stockingford Nuneaton on 23rd March for our performance.

Season’s Greetings!

Atherstone Choral Society

Following our wonderful Christmas concert with Bedworth Brass Band, Atherstone Choral Society would like to wish all our supporters a peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope to see you in 2024. Please contact us if you would like to be on email list and receive details of our upcoming concerts.
